My name is Nick. I am a Jesus loving, music writing, creator of original expressions of the soul. I’m married to the most amazing woman in the world, I have three beautifully unique and awesomely loving children, and I cherish every God-given breath of life. In my youth I despised traditional school (still do), played sports obsessively (I wish I still could), and learned from my parents early on that hard work is the only way to succeed at anything in life. Needless to say, I still obsess over certain things, and writing songs that place God’s glory and goodness front and center is one of my primary obsessions.
For the purpose of paying the bills and feeding my family, I paint houses, remodel houses, flip and sell houses, buy, remodel, and rent houses as Airbnb’s…..and occasionally buy and sell land as well. I have a small obsession with real estate. But my greatest dream in life is to create content of all sorts that can inspire people and draw out the truest essence of who they were designed to be. I worked as an associate and college pastor in multiple church’s for nearly 11 years, and in my time of vocational ministry what I loved most was my role in the field of creative arts. I preached sermons, wrote scripts, choreographed dance, taught acting, vision casted and storyboarded for original videos, put together special worship services, led worship and worked alongside some of the best friends I have ever in this life……and the cherry on top of it all, I MET MY WIFE!
Apparently opposites do attract as she was a first chair violinist and I was a captain on the football and basketball team. She loves sight reading and I love playing and creating music by ear. She loves to cook by recipe and I just make it up as I go. What we have in common is Jesus, we both have amazing parents, a deep love for music, appreciation for really good true crime series, and taking trips to other parts of the U.S. and the world.
One last important thing about me, between the ages of 16-20 my life was a bit of a dumpster fire. I partied way too hard, liked to escape reality via alcohol, and I ended up in jail on 3 different occasions on alcohol related charges. At my rock bottom I was suicidal and in desperate need of salvation. After my last stint in jail, on March 30, 2007, I met Jesus in a powerful way and was saved by His grace. I write songs, preach His word, and create new things all for the purpose of drawing attention to His greatness! He is the reason I’m not dead. He is the reason I have hope. He is the reason I know how to love. He is the one who resurrected my life from the depths of destruction! All praise be to Jesus! The Name above all Names!
My primary goal with this blog is to keep people updated on my creative music writing journey. I plan to share my inspiration for specific songs, details about new releases, how God has been speaking to me, what’s next in this journey, and testimonies of God’s grace and power in my life, my family, and in the lives of people that God put’s in my path!
